Team New mexico LoCo News

Well no one said trying to get a Loco off the ground would be easy, and it’s not. For the past 6 months or so, I along with Ubuntu member Michael Rimbert, have been trying our hearts out to get the New Mexico LoCo up and running Michael did the hard part and we have a Ubuntu Wiki, Launchpad page, mailing list and IRC channel on freenode.net #ubuntu-newmexico. I’ve been recruiting like mad and we have had some limited success. Recently however we did have a set back and lost one of the founding members. Of those of you that belong to LoCo’s how do you get people to come to your IRC or face to face meetings on a regular basis? What guide lines do you use? How do you recruit new members?

Try offering free food, that will help get the high-school and college kids to show up. Try a social event like a BBQ.
