Canonical’s director of corporate services, Steve George, says that the goal is to provide Ubuntu to customers who are looking for software and support. The version sold at Best Buy comes with 60 days of support service.
I think it’s a great Idea, you sure don’t get Microsoft Support when you buy Vista.

Actually, I think you do get support for Windows … Isn’t there a number you can call for technical support?

You have to pay additional fees (to Microsoft), it’s not part of the purchase price.

I thought you get some support if you buy a retail copy of Windows. You wouldn’t get it if it came preinstalled on a computer. For that, you would have to call the OEM. If you bought an OEM version of Windows, you can forget support.
